Blog Going through another rennovation (Updated)

Apparently some of the changes I made to customize blogger's design template have caused some issues - biggest one is that sharing icons won't work for posts, which I think are sort of important.  Second one is that I can't seem to get my Google calendar to work properly either - also a little important as I plan to put my class schedule and other events there for people.  Anyway, that means I'm going to need to revert back to the bare bones version of my blog and then start fresh to make updates.  So things may be a bit wonky on the blog for a few days.  I'll make an update note when I'm all done.  Sorry for any temporary glitches.

UPDATES 12-18-2014:  With the holidays literally around the corner, I've been having a hard time managing my hours for work on the web site and keeping up with real world holiday hubbub. :)  So I fully hope to have the site renovations and updates in place, but it will likely be mid-January before everything is done. And I promise not to natter on about "...coming soon" sort of posts.  I'll just do one more on topic once all the updates are in place.

"Stuff and Tea" Mini Album Part 2

So here's the rest of the pics of my finished "Cocoa, Coffee and Tea Memories" mini album. (Changed the name already - lol!)

I'm actually pretty happy with how this turned out, though I think the cover could have been fancied up a bit more, but I wasn't quite sure how I'd do that without over-doing it, if that makes sense, so I opted to leave it a bit simpler.

I've put this up in my Etsy shop today as well, if you want to take a look - though the pictures are pretty much the same.

"Stuff and Tea" Mini Album

I'm currently working on a mini album based on a tutorial from 'My Sisters Scrapper' - specifically her 'Apple Cider' album.  I love Ginger's style and her tutorials are just great.  This album is tentatively labeled "Stuff and Tea" - its meant to be a sort of an -every day occurrences- photo and memorabilia album.  I'm struggling a bit with the embellishing, but then I always seem to struggle with that.  I'll pull half my stash out into the middle of the room and try all sorts of combinations and still come up blank - grr!  Some people, like Ginger and my friend Sarah, make it look so effortless...I'm jealous! ;P

First Etsy items up!

So, without much pomp or circumstance, I finally just bit the bullet and listed a few of my handmade cards sets on my Etsy store today.  After 2+ years of coming soon, I figured I'd better just shuddup about doing it and 'DO IT'.

My next goal, aside from continuing to add items to the Etsy shop is to get my galleries and tips and tuts section up here on my blog.  I won't say coming soon though - just that I'm working hard to get stuff updated and going now.

Fall Collage

Had the opportunity to take a collage class at my friend and Stampin' Up Upline's studio a couple weeks ago.  The picture (pls ignore my poor photography skills and my fat hands reflected at the bottom of the frame - lol!) is of my finished collage.   They really are pretty and I'm looking forward to taking more of the collage classes for Winter and Christmas!

Basically she provides all the materials to make 12 squares and you can pick from those the 9 you like best and want to make for your take home collage.   So much fun to do and such a nice group of gals to chat with as we worked.  Very fun!

Procrastination as a Skill

The title of this post should go on my resume.  *sigh*

I'm honestly not a procrastinator though - what I really am is one of those stream of consciousness thinkers/speakers/doers.  I just keep throwing "stuff at the wall" and eventually the things I'm most passionate and serious about "stick". :P  The think(g) is, though, I process EVERYTHING as I'm sorting through all that "out loud" and in actions.  So basically I come off looking like a wishy/washy procrastinator who can't make up her mind.  Ahh well, life and warts - we all live em and all have em in some form or another. :P

So my personal flaws aside, let me get to the point of my post here... I've made quite a bit of progress toward getting my little fledgling hobbyist bidness going - and though this blog and my personal blog are riddled with "coming soon" themed comments and posts, I am finally getting to the point where I'm ready to sort of officially launch.  (I've been saying that for about 2 years now too - lol!)

I plan to open my Etsy store and my Stampin' Up! Demonstrator site (DBWS) by November 1st.  And technically the Etsy shop is already OPEN, just doesn't have anything in it yet. ROFL!  I've got lots of pictures I need to take yet, but at least now I've got quite a nice inventory of handmade items to share.  And I'm also working on setting up a YouTube Channel with some tutorials and shares - though that's a bit further off still.

So, instead of doing my usual "stay tuned for the grand opening" I think I'm just gonna start posting stuff and hopefully that will suffice for an official launch!  LOL!  I THANK all of my family and friends, who have been patient and hung in there with me through all the back and forth.  I think I'm finally getting there - your support made a huge difference and kept me going!

More minor news and updates

Well, the updated blog, Etsy shop and stuff is in the works.  (Sorry if there's a few glitches - I'm still working on updating stuff - the blog especially) My new biz/calling cards came in the mail yesterday and they look wonderful!  (Thanks Valerie!)  Next is the rummage sale - that's next weekend, and then FINALLY, I'm all about MAKING STUFF - yay!

So Excited!

So after 2+ years of barely any activity on my blog and going back and forth and back and forth with my craft blog/business I'm so excited that I FINALLY have lots of new things to talk about, share and update with.

Just a small update

Updated the blog look again today, to "spring it out" a bit.  Once again I'm making use of the wonderful "blog decor" graphics from Gotta Pixel and Trixie Scraps.  I can't believe it's been since November that I last posted anything.  Hopefully have more frequent updates soon.
